REGISTRATION FOR THE 2009 B.A.A. HALF MARATHON HAS CLOSED. Registration opened on July 15, and the race reached its maximum field size the following day (July 16).
Ninth Annual B.A.A. HALF MARATHON, presented by Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund Date: Sunday, October 11, 2009 Time: 8:00 a.m. Starts and Finishes on Park Drive in the Back Bay Fens Field size is limited to 5,000 entrants. Online registration began on Wednesday, July 15 at 9:00 a.m. ET. and ENDED on Thursday morning, July 16 at approximately 10:30 a.m. ET. Entry fee: $54.00 * * * UPDATE * * * THIS YEAR'S RACE FILLED QUICKLY. A LIMITED NUMBER OF ENTRIES ARE STILL AVAILABLE THROUGH PRESENTING SPONSOR DANA-FARBER CANCER INSTITUTE AND THE JIMMY FUND. The Ninth Annual B.A.A. Half Marathon, presented by Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund, highlights the beauty of Boston's Emerald Necklace park system while furthering the B.A.A.'s mission of promoting health and fitness. COURSE: The 13.1-mile, rolling course combines both a looped and out-and-back route, beginning and ending on Park Drive near the Boston Park and Recreation's Rose Garden in the Back Bay Fens neighborhood of Boston (also known as the Fenway). With a start adjacent to Roberto Clemente's Field, the course proceeds through the Riverway and over Route 9 into Brookline. The course then passes Jamaica Pond and the Arborway on its way to Franklin Park, with a turnaround in the Franklin Park Zoo. Returning from Franklin Park, the course follows the Arborway to the Jamaicaway to the Riverway before finishing back in the Fenway on Park Drive near the rose garden and Veteran's Memorial.
