Freedom Run

The B.A.A. is committed to introducing and encouraging the sport of running in the lives of Boston-area youths.

Focusing on the fundamentals of running, team participation, and health benefits, the" B.A.A. Training Basics" curriculum offers a unique athletic opportunity for area youths.

The umbrella program, "B.A.A. Training Basics," includes recreational running in the spring (Club 111 and B.A.A. Relay Challenge) and cross-country in the fall (with Boston Public Schools and the Boston Center for Youths and Families). As a community service, the B.A.A. offers all of its programs free of charge.

Since the initiative was launched in 1997, more than 15,000 youths have benefited from the B.A.A.'s programming and introduction to our sport.

The B.A.A. Relay Challenge consists of a series of age-group and team-oriented relay races. The highlight of the day was again the adidas All-Star Relay in which two members from each youth club race with elite adidas athletes. Club 111 and the B.A.A. Relay Challenge are part of the year-round youth program initiative created from the partnership that exists between the B.A.A. and adidas. More than 15,000 Boston-area youths have participated in B.A.A. kids running programs since 1997.
