Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) is on track to conquering major forms of cancer, and is uniquely positioned to transform this vision into reality.  Home to many of the world’s groundbreaking discoveries in cancer research and treatment, DFCI provides expert, compassionate care to children and adults with cancer.  The Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge (DFMC) team in the Boston Marathon® Charity Program directs 100% of funds raised to the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research at DFCI, which enables leading researchers to achieve increased cure rates and to enhance patients’ quality of life.  DFMC took its first steps in 1990 as one of the inaugural organizations in the Charity Program.  The team aims to celebrate DFMC 2010, its 21st year, by raising $4.4 million for the Barr Program.
