Homes for Our Troops is a non-partisan, non-profit organization founded in 2004 with the mission of building specially adapted homes for Servicemen and Women who have returned home with serious disabilities and injuries. They assist these disabled veterans across the country by raising donations of money, building materials and professional labor and coordinating the process of building a new home or adapting an existing home for handicapped accessibility. These homes are provided at no cost to the veteran. Along with providing a home specially designed to meet the challenges they face due to their disabilities, Homes for Our Troops takes the burden of finding an appropriate home off the shoulders of the veteran and his or her family at this disruptive point in their lives, which helps to promote a more stable future and a better chance for physical and emotional recovery.
